Marble Mazer

Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE 4 AUGUST 2026 · VERSION 1.0

The short version. Marble Mazer has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no server. Nothing it does reaches the internet — there is nothing to reach, because the app answers its own requests from files inside itself. Your scores and settings are saved on your iPhone and stay there. We never receive them, and we could not read them if we wanted to.

This policy covers the Marble Mazer iPhone app (digital.mainichi.marblemazer), published by Mainichi Digital. If anything here is unclear, write to support@mainichi.digital and we will explain it or fix it.

What we collect

Nothing. We operate no server and no analytics service. There is no mechanism by which your data could reach us, and none by which we could request it.

That is not a promise about how we behave — it is a description of how the app is built.

What the app saves, on your phone

The game keeps one save file in your iPhone's storage for this app, so it can remember where you got to. It contains:

Board records
Your best time and fall count per board, the grade you earned, whether that run used the assist rails, and how many times you've cleared and attempted each one.
Ghost replays
The path your marble took on your best run for each board, as a list of positions over time, so you can race yourself. This describes a ball inside a maze. It is not motion data about you or your phone.
Progression
Which boards you have cleared, in the order you cleared them.
Play history
A day-streak counter and the local calendar day of your last counted clear, your lifetime flawless clears, and the date the save was first created.
Marbles
Which marble skins you have unlocked and which one you are wearing.
Settings
Tilt sensitivity, zero point and invert options; music and sound levels.
Interface flags
Small pieces of state so the app doesn't repeat itself — whether you've seen the first-run hint, whether you declined the tutorial.
A random identifier
Generated on your device the first time you open the app, so the save knows which save it is. It is not derived from your phone, your Apple account, your network or anything else — it says nothing about you. It is never transmitted, because nothing is.

All of it lives in this app's own private storage. No other app can read it, and it is not in a shared folder.

About backups. The app does not sync anything anywhere. But like any app's data, your save can be included in your own iPhone backup if you have backups turned on. That backup is yours, under your Apple account and Apple's terms — we have no access to it and no part in it.

Motion and tilt

The game is steered by tilting your phone, which means it reads your device's orientation while you play. That reading happens entirely inside the app, frame by frame, to move the marble. It is not recorded, not stored and not transmitted.

Tilt is opt-in, once per launch: you turn it on with a button inside the game. If you never turn it on, no orientation data is read at all and you steer with the on-screen joystick instead.

Purchases

Version 1.0 sells nothing. There are no in-app purchases, no currency and no subscriptions. Every marble in the game is unlocked by playing it.

A purchase library (RevenueCat) is compiled into the app but is switched off — it has no key and no products, so it never initialises and never runs. If we ever switch purchases on, that random identifier becomes the id the purchase service uses to remember what you bought. That would be a change to this page, and to the App Store privacy labels, before that version ships.

Children

Marble Mazer is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. There is no sign-up, no profile, no chat, no user-generated content and no advertising. There is nothing for a parent to request the deletion of, because nothing reaches us.

Your rights

Data-protection law gives you rights over personal data a company holds about you — access, correction, deletion, portability, objection. We hold none, so there is nothing for those rights to act on: a request would arrive and find nothing.

You remain in full control of what is on your device:

Legal basis, for readers in the EU/UK

We do not process your personal data, so no legal basis under the GDPR is engaged. The data described above is stored on your own device to deliver the game you asked for, and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. There are no international transfers, because there are no transfers.

For readers in California

We do not collect, sell or share personal information as the CCPA/CPRA defines those terms. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months, and we do not have a mechanism to.

Security

Nothing is transmitted by the app, so there is no data in transit to intercept. Your save is protected by iOS itself, under the same app-sandbox and device-encryption protections as every other app's data on your iPhone.

Changes

If a future version collects or transmits anything, this page will say so before that version ships, the effective date at the top will change, and the App Store privacy labels will be updated to match. We will not quietly start collecting data under a policy that says we don't.
